Ingredients
9 items · serves 4- 300 g chicken liver, trimmed and halved
- 2 medium potatoes, cubed
- 1 head garlic (about 10 cloves), crushed
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 60 ml soy sauce (toyo)
- 45 ml cane vinegar (suka)
- 2 dried bay leaves (laurel)
- 1/2 tsp whole black peppercorns (pamintang buo)
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
Contains: soy, wheat, chicken. Check product labels: brands differ.
Steps
5 steps- 1Fry the potatoes in the oil until lightly browned, then lift them out.
- 2Saute the garlic and onion in the same pan until soft.
- 3Add the soy sauce, vinegar, half a cup of water, the bay leaves and peppercorns and boil for two minutes without stirring.
- 4Add the potatoes and simmer for five minutes, then add the liver and cook for five to six minutes more, just until it is cooked through; overcooked liver turns hard.
- 5Serve with steamed rice.
